It is predicted that Poland's cement sales will reach 16 million tonnes in 2016, which will represent a 4-5% increase in comparison to 2015.
In 2017, the sales will grow further by 500,000tonnes owing to new road and rail investments implemented in the country.
However, it is emphasised that increased sales will not necessarily mean that the production of cement will also grow, and according to some scenarios, it might even drop. This is because exports of cement are predicted to increase.
According to the Polish Association of Cement Producers (SPC), exports from Belarus will reach 700,000tonnes in 2016, up from 15,000tonnes in 2012 because Belarussian cement producers seek new markets to sell cement produced by three recently built cement plants.
