CRH has announced that Senan Murphy intends to retire from his position as the global building materials giant's Group finance director during 2021.
CEMEX 2030 CO2 emissions reduction target & implementation roadmap validated by the Carbon Trust
CEMEX says the Carbon Trust has validated its roadmap to decarbonise global operations in line with the Sectoral Decarbonisation Approach (SDA) two-degree scenario (2DS) developed by the International Energy Agency (IEA). The validated roadmap would enable the company to achieve a 35% reduction of net carbon emissions by 2030.

Deutz makes further progress with China strategy
Deutz is continuing to make good progress with its growth strategy in China. Now that Deutz and diesel engine maker Beinei’s new factory for contract manufacturing has been completed, local production of the 2.9 and 6.1 engine series can commence in early 2021 as planned. Engines for aerial work platforms, forklift trucks, and smaller construction equipment will be made at the site in the port city of Tianjin, which will serve as the production hub for the Asian market.

Aggregate Industries rolls out 'green' concrete
Construction materials supplier Aggregate Industries has launched its new ECOPact low carbon range of concrete to the UK market.
ECOPact comes in a range options for customers that are designed to reduce the CO2 emissions of their concrete supply by between 30% and 70% compared to standard (CEM I) concrete.
The standard ECOPact product is a low carbon concrete utilising blended cement, that has between 30-50% CO2 reduction compared to a standard concrete (CEMI) mix.

SKF strengthens manufacturing capabilities in North America
Swedish bearing supplier SKF is investing around $60 million to strengthen its manufacturing operations in North America.
SKF is to invest SEK $38m in expanding and automating manufacturing processes at the group’s factory in Sumter, South Carolina.
It will also utilise $21m in localising manufacturing of Tapered Roller Bearings from China to an existing manufacturing site in Mexico.
