Campbell Contracts boosts productivity following CDE plant upgrade

For nearly 40 years, family-owned business Campbell Contracts has been extracting sand and gravel from its Letterbailey quarry in County Fermanagh, Northern Ireland. More recently, in response to market demand, the company commenced blasting to increase the supply of its sand, gravel, decorative gravel, crushed rock, rock fill and screened topsoil.

Green construction boost as new service provides transparent environmental data on concrete products

The Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA) and consultants WAP Sustainability have taken a major step towards greener construction for the industry by launching on-demand Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for concrete producers in North America. The new EPD on-demand service will enable concrete producers to quickly, accurately and cost-effectively produce verified EPDs of their products.

Three Holcim clean tech projects selected for EU Innovation Fund grants to decarbonise Europe

Holcim has been selected for three grants from the European Union (EU) Innovation Fund for breakthrough Carbon Capture Utilisation and Storage (CCUS) projects in Belgium, France and Croatia. The projects were selected for their highly scalable profile, mature technologies and advanced partnerships to advance the EU's Green Deal, putting clean technologies to work for a net-zero future.

First fully decarbonised cement plant in Germany: Heidelberg Materials gets support from the EU Innovation Fund

The EU Innovation Fund, one of the world's largest funding programmes for innovative low-carbon technologies, has selected Heidelberg Materials' pioneering GeZero Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) project for Grant Agreement Preparation. As part of the project, a completely new concept and operational design will be implemented in the company's German cement plant in Geseke.
