UK plant machinery maintenance specialist United Plant Services (UPS) has made an ambitious and significant investment in a new national fleet of support vehicles, dedicated to satisfy increasing demand for the successful range of services offered by the company. The fleet investment coincides with a major rebrand for the company as it integrates sister company Macplant – well known in Scotland – under the UPS name for a unified, UK-wide network of 40 versatile, highly-trained engineers.

RDS has introduced the Loadex 100, a retrofitting scale installed on both tracked and wheeled 360° excavators and material handling machines to weigh the amount of material in the bucket, grab or clamshell.

A minimum of two pressure sensors are installed into the hydraulic lift system.

The pressure signals are captured, filtered and corrected by measurements taken by an inclinometer. Slope corrections are made from another inclination sensor on the chassis.
