Cemex Poland is contributing to the construction of a new power unit in the Turow Power Plant, located in south-west Poland.

A new Cemex quarry in Datchet, county Berkshire, England adjacent to the M4, is starting to supply essential sand and gravel to construction customers and ready-mixed concrete plants in London and the South East.

Datchet quarry will supply approximately 400,000tonnes of material per year and is of strategic importance in the supply chain to the region’s construction industry. With many quarries in the area now exhausted, Datchet will provide a locally sourced and more sustainable material.

FLSmidth has signed another contract with Wadi El Nile Cement Company (WNCC) for operation and maintenance of its cement plant approximately 120km south of the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The contract is a five-year continuation of the existing contract signed in 2010.

In addition, WNCC also ordered an upgrade of the plant from 6,000-7,200tonnes of clinker/day. The upgrade will be carried out as an integral part of the operation and maintenance contract.
