Cemex is providing 18,000m³ of ready-mixed concrete, out of an overall 24,000m³, for the new Draguignan jail in southeastern France.

Vinci Construction France is currently constructing the new facility, and the concretes elaborated by Cemex are said to comply to the requests of the Archi 5 Prod architecture cabinet. The jail includes three living quarters and two additional buildings.

The Italian competition authority has decided not to launch an investigation into the acquisition of a business unit of Sacci, the Italian cement company, by peer company Cementir Italia. As a result, the operation can now go ahead. Sacci's plan was due to be submitted to the creditors' scrutiny at a court hearing being held today (14 March 2016).

Stelex Construction Equipment, supplier of the original Hercules range of heavy duty trommels, has launched the new HT182C heavy-duty trommel as part of its standard product range.

The HT182C uses a chain drive system for the barrel rotation in place of the standard live drive system that was introduced in 2005.

The live drive system has been a huge success and extremely reliable but the reduced cost of the chain drive will hopefully make it an attractive alternative to customers on a tighter budget

Sara Selegran has been appointed new head of Swedish construction company NCC's recycling division, NCC Recycling.

She will replace Jukka Viitanen, who will continue to work for NCC, but in another role.

According to the Vietnam Cement Association, only four cement producers managed to install waste heat gas generation (WHGG) systems at their plants by end of 2015 as instructed by the government.

These four companies are Cong Thanh, Ha Tien, Chinfon and Holcim, while those said to have failed to comply with the instruction include Nghi Son Cement, Luks Cement Vietnam and Phuc Son Cement.
