Arcosa buys Stavola materials business for US$1.2bn

Arcosa - a Dallas, Texas-based provider of infrastructure-related products and solutions in the construction, engineered structures, and transportation markets - has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire the construction materials business of Stavola and its affiliated entities for US$1.2bn in cash.

Hillhouse quarry group buys Skene

Hillhouse Group, one of the largest independent suppliers of quarry materials in Scotland, has acquired Skene Group Construction Services.

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has signed a definitive agreement to sell its off-the-road (OTR) tyre business, which provides tyres for applications including quarrying and construction, to The Yokohama Rubber Company for US$905m.

SigmaRoc posts strong H1 performance

SigmaRoc, the Northern European lime and limestone group, has posted a trading update for the six months ended 30 June 2024 which it says reflects a performance that is ahead of expectations.

SigmaRoc CEO Max Vermorken says: “On a proforma basis the group sees its earnings per share expand again. Given how busy the teams have been with the integration of several new businesses, a demanding synergy programme, while also navigating mixed market conditions, this is an outstanding result."
