U.S. EPA funding for Heidelberg Materials NA EPD project

Heidelberg Materials North America has been selected for award negotiation to receive up to $5 million in funding from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to create a robust, web-based tool that can help ready-mix concrete, cement and aggregate facilities to quickly produce high-quality Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs).

Cemex UK announces EPD publication success for its cement products

Cemex UK has recently announced that it has published Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for products at its Rugby and Tilbury cement plants. The EPDs for cement delivered in bulk tankers have been gained, covering more than 80% of manufactured cements. 

Paul Fletcher, Head of Sustainability for Cemex Europe, comments that, “Achieving third-party verification through the International EPD System provides independent and transparent information of our cement’s environmental performance over the entire lifecycle of the product.

Heidelberg Materials further strengthens US footprint with three acquisitions

Heidelberg Materials has entered into a definitive purchase agreement to acquire Highway Materials, Inc., one of the largest independent aggregates and asphalt producers in the Greater Philadelphia market. Included with this acquisition are four crushed stone quarries, nine hot‐mix asphalt plants, two clean fill operations, a concrete recycling facility, a construction services business, and more than 350 employees.

Pan-United charts next growth phase after leadership team changes

Singapore-listed concrete innovation leader Pan-United Corporation (Pan-United) has appointed May Ng as the Executive Chair of the company's Board and Ken Loh as CEO.
