Lafarge has set up a Roads and Networks infrastructure division, headed by Stéphanie Minnebois, as part of its strategic reorganisation which has led to the creation of four major divisions.

The acquisition of 1.312 billion shares in Ashaka Cement has been completed by Lafarge Africa, according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
The US$190.23 million (NGN 30.95 billion) deal is part of the ongoing merger of Lafarge Group’s South African and Nigerian assets. The deal was executed as an off-market trade. The seller of the Ashaka Cement shares are Lafarge Nigeria (United Kingdom).
PPC’s Zimbabwe’s No 1 production goal
PPC Zimbabwe said it will become the leading cement producer in Zimbabwe by constructing a 100tonne/hour manufacturing plant in the country’s capital, Harare. The ambitious company recently revealed it had secured approval for the project's Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). According to PPC, the US$80 million plant is scheduled for completion by March 2016.

Green light for Lafarge Holcim Singapore merger
Lafarge and Holcim have reportedly been shown the green light from the Competition Commission of Singapore to merge their local operations.
AsiaOne Business website writes that the merger, with Holcim acquiring Lafarge's entire issued share capital, will result in Holcim being renamed LafargeHolcim.

Germany maintains its top position in Europe’s aggregates industry
MIRO, the national aggregates federation, now represents about 1,600 companies with 27,000 employees running 3,200 extraction sites, a rise from 1,300 operators with 2,100 sites. These produce, in the main, primary raw gravel and sand, of which about 253 million tonnes were produced in 2011 (the most recent figures found), and natural stone at 229 million tonnes.
