Concrete company Thomas Beton is using equipment from Swiss contruction machinery manufacturer Ammann at its new facility in Elmshorn, Germany. Thomas Beton chose the Ammann CBS 120 SL Elba concrete mixing plant for Elmshorn. The plant features a frequency-controlled skip hoist and offers theoretical output of up to 121 m³ per hour, while having minimal space requirements. Cemex is the main cement supplier for the new Assiut barrage project on the Nile River in Egypt.

The project is expected to provide irrigation water for 690,000 hectares, directly benefitting 5 million agricultural workers.

The Assiut project replaces the previous dam which was built in the early 20th century, and also involves the construction of a hydroelectric power plant that is expected to generate 32 megawatts of energy.
