The system integrator 1C-Rarus has installed the 1C: Document Management 8 Corp. IT solution at the Novosibirsk Quarry administration in Russia.
The project has created a single document registration and storage system for all of the company's divisions; reduced the number of paper documents; eliminated the risk of document loss; accelerated the finalisation of documentation, and reduced costs.

The Greek cement industry has been directly hit by the country's debt crisis, reflected by Titan Cement's 30 June 2015 announcement that it cannot pay a shareholder dividend due to the government's capital controls.
Titan Cement saw the first improvements in its operating results in seven years and a profit in 2014, while other cement producers Halyps Cement (Italcementi) and Heracles General Cement (Lafarge) reported rising cement volumes in 2014 with an improved construction market.

Dangote to invest US$150.29mn in in second Cameroon cement factory
Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote is reportedly planning to invest US$150.29 million in a second cement factory in Cameroon, a plant which will have annual production capacity of 1.5 million tonnes. The new site will be in the suburbs of Yaoundé. Chinese group Sinoma are due to carry out the works which are scheduled to last 20 months. Dangote is said by local media to have also have expressed interest in investing in the fields of hydrocarbons, rice and sugar in Cameroon.

Komatsu has warned that a scam website is posing as part of its group and asking for personal information from people hoping for a job within the company.
The scam site is for a fictitious company in Ghana. “Komatsu Ltd does not have a subsidiary or affiliate called ‘Komatsu Global Mining And Construction Company Ghana’ and has no connection with such company,” the Japanese construction equipment manufacturing giant said.

Spain: new MD at Cementos Molins
The board at Spanish cement company, Cementos Molins, has approved the appointment of Julio Rodriguez in the post of managing director, replacing Juan Molins Amat who stepped down in order to become first vice-president of the board.
Rodriguez was until now executive vice president of operations at Schneider Electric and a member of the company’s global management committee.
The shareholders at Cementos Molins also approved the appointment of Andrea Kathrin Christenson as an independent board member.
Hongshi’s $300mn cement plant in Laos
By investing approximately US$300 million (€267.40 million), China-based cement producer Hongshi Holding Group is to set up a cement production plant in Vientiane province, Laos.
The plant is designed with a daily cement production capacity of 5,000tonnes or 2 million tonnes/year.
Polish consortium’s PLN 1.93bn loan to Lotos Asfalt
A loan agreement worth around PLN 1.93 billion (EUR 461.36 million/US$515.27 million) has been signed by the major Polish bitumen producer Lotos Asfalt, to complete the finance for the company’s EFRA project to construct a delayed coking plant in Gdansk.
A consortium of institutions are to supply the finance. These are: BGZ, Bank Pekao, Bank Zachodni WBK, PKO Bank Polski, Societe Generale, Bank Millennium, Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen and Powszechny Zaklad Ubezpieczen na Zycie.

Romania: HeidelbergCement merges units
HeidelbergCement, the German cement and concrete manufacturer, has announced that its Romanian subsidiaries, Carpatcement Holding, Carpat Beton and Carpat Agregate, will be merged and consolidated under the name HeidelbergCement Romania.
Holcim subsidiary’s gravel quarry in Condren, France
French quarrying company Carrières Ballastières de Picardie (Holcim) is to extract gravel at a privately-owned 35hectare site in Condren, France.
The company will mine the site for an estimated 10-12 years, and will use waterways to transport its production to clients.
It previously sought to carry out the extraction at a site owned by the municipality, but it was refused permission.
Antoine Ducleax new Lafarge Central Europe chief exec
Antoine Duclaux is the new chief executive of Lafarge Central Europe and heads up the future country cluster of Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia and Slovenia.
Until recently, he was senior vice-president strategy at Lafarge’s headquarters following earlier appointments as managing director at Lafarge Emirates Cement, Dubai, and Lafarge Cementos, Honduras.
He has been part of the Lafarge team since 2002, when he started as vice-president of corporate audit.

JCB is celebrating an order worth more than £7 million (nearly €10 million) for a fleet of more than 500 micro and mini excavators from Travis Perkins, one of the UK’s major suppliers to the building industry.
