A Lafarge Tarmac quarry in county Bedfordshire, southern England, boasts the world’s first Terex Washing Systems’ AggreSand 206 modular wash plant combined with a TWS AggreScrub 150. Guy Woodford visited the quarry during a world premiere showcase for new customers and TWS dealers of the two models working in tandem to hear how the dual solution from the Northern Irish firm is helping Lafarge Tarmac meet its customers’ needs.

NSI of Denmark moves sand/gravel with Telestack conveyor
A Telestack TS 842, the largest mobile conveyor in Denmark, is at work in the largest gravel pit in the country.
NSI, which is Denmark’s largest producer of sand and gravel, is using the stacker at its gravel pit in Roskilde, close to the capital city of Copenhagen.
The enormous Telestack TS 842 works in conjunction with a mobile crushing plant, a set that is producing road base material for a large number of infrastructure projects in Copenhagen, which is growing rapidly.

Terex Finlay 683 Supertrak for Dewsbury Sand and Gravel
A new Terex Finlay 683 Supertrak is said to be helping a company increase productivity.
Launched just over six months ago by Newlay Concrete, Dewsbury Sand and Gravel is part of the long-established Hargreaves Group GB, who produce a wide range of aggregates for the construction industry as well as decorative aggregates for the commercial market.
The machine has been supplied to the county West Yorkshire company by Finlay Plant Northern, part of the Finlay Group of companies.

Lafarge’s flagship Pitt River Quarry in British Columbia, Canada, is part of a Lafarge North America network, the largest diversified supplier of construction materials in Canada and the United States.
The facility in Pitt Meadows, 50km west of Vancouver, a big market for the granite quarry, is near the banks of the Pitt River. It ships out 1.5-2 million tonnes of aggregate/year, loading river barges or trucks with the prized product.

Kenya's weak currency has caused local cement makers to suffer foreign exchange losses in the recent months.
For instance, National Cement Company incurred a KES 160 million (€1.45 million/US$1.64 million) foreign exchange loss due to importation of equipment and inputs in May 2015.
