The first UK sale of a new Maximus 516 Vibrating Scalper has been made to Cumbria-based construction specialists L&W Wilson (Endmoor) Ltd.
The deal was struck after Cumbrian-based dealer Taylor & Braithwaite demonstrated the capabilities of the 516 Scalper during a three-day working demonstration event at L&W Wilson’s quarry site.

Komatsu’s new environmentally friendly D155AX-8 crawler dozer is powered by the Japanese firm’s EU Stage IV emissions certified SAA6D140E-7 engine.

Comco, the Swiss competition commission, has launched a new probe into companies in the gravel sector and the sector for inert material landfill. The companies being investigated are Kieswerk Heimberg, Kieswerk Steinigand, Kiestag, Kieswerk Daepp, Kästli Bau, K. & U. Hofstetter, Messerli Kieswerk and Kies Aaretal. Comco said it is looking into whether these firms had taken part in a cartel.
Semen Indonesia may terminate Myanmar investment plan
Indonesian state-run cement giant Semen Indonesia may scrap plans to invest in Myanmar if it fails to reach a pricing agreement with its local partner, according to the Jakarta Post.
A move to another Asian country or an alternative partnership with another local firm are said to be possibilities if the prices wanted by the domestic partner are deemed too high. However, Semen Indonesia says talks between both parties are ongoing.

A QH331 Sandvik Construction tracked mobile cone crusher is making light work of volcanic rock in South Africa.

Caterpillar is making the first in a series of authorised modification processes available for used Cat Tier 4 Interim products that require modification for operation outside highly regulated countries (HRCs), where the products were originally manufactured to operate.
The processes will be available exclusively from Cat dealers in certain countries with less stringent or no non-road emissions standards for used Tier 4 Interim products that customers will operate in those countries.

Norway: housing construction costs up by 3.3%
In Norway, housing construction costs increased by 3.3% from December 2013 to December 2014, according to data from the Norwegian statistical office (SSB). Material costs increased by 4% and labour costs by 3%. The costs for construction of detached houses were up by 3.6%, and for blocks of flats by 2.7%.
