Rockmore’s new ROK 500DH dth hammer

Rockmore International has unveiled the ROK 500DH, the the first release in its newly-announced Deep Hole hammer series. The 5 inch DTH range hammer is said to incorporate many new innovations and features characterised in the Deep Hole class of hammers. As a 5 inch class hammer, the 500DH is targeted to drill 5.5-6inch (140mm-152mm) diameter holes, and “to increase drilling effectiveness and efficiency in deep hole applications.”

Metso report wins gold medal award in Australia

A technical report produced by Metso’s Process Technology and Innovation (PTI) organisation has won this year’s gold medal in Australia, granted by the Coalition for Eco-Efficient Comminution (CEEC).
Metso’s winning paper explained the optimisation and continuous improvement of the Antamina comminution circuit in Chile. The winning paper was co-authored by four Metso employees: Dr Walter Valery, Dr Alex Jankovic, Mr Roberto Valle and Mr Serkan Dikman.

Metso has signed a contract with Teck Carmen de Andacollo Mining Company in Chile to supply wear protection material to its ball mill in Carmen de Andacollo. McLanahan Corporation has recently produced of its Portable Frac Sand Plant.

CRH buys Finnish concrete business

Finland’s Lemminkäinen has signed an agreement to sell all outstanding shares in its concrete business to Rudus, which is part of Ireland-based materials giant CRH. Rudus is based in Finland and works in concrete and stone building materials and products. The transaction price for the sale of Lemminkäinen Rakennustuotteet Oy is €55 million.
