90 Terex Machines to meet machines to meet borchers & speer's customer needs

German machine hire specialist Borchers & Speer recently purchased 90 new Terex wheeled loaders and midi-crawler excavators to meet the needs of its customers. The machines will be used across its 15 branches in the German states of Schleswig-Holstein, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lower Saxony, Brandenburg and Saxony-Anhalt, as well as in Bremerhaven. Italcementi invests €150mn in its Rezzato plant renewal

Italian cement manufacturer Italcementi is investing € 150 million on the upgrade of its plant in Rezzato, northern Italy. The firm says that new cutting edge technology could cut the site’s production costs by up to 23%, and CO2 emissions by 75%. The plant is expected to become operational by the end of 2014, with no job cuts.

Belgium’s official Hitachi dealer, Luyckx, celebrated its 60th anniversary with its largest ever open house event, which attracted more than 15,000 visitors.

The Illinois CancerCare Foundation in Peoria, USA, will be the recipient of a benefit effort that was featured at the world’s largest mining trade show, as Dust Control Technology announced the introduction of its newest equipment design. The Liebherr Group has acquired concrete pump manufacturer Waitzinger, based in Neu-Ulm, Germany. The Waitzinger takeover completes Liebherr's product range in the concrete technology sector. JCB prepares for further growth in India

JCB today unveiled plans to expand its manufacturing operations in India by investing £62 million (€76 million)in a new world-class construction equipment factory on a 70 acre site in Jaipur, Rajasthan. Spanish demand for cement down again

According to Oficeman, the Spanish association of cement producers, during the first nine months of 2012 demand for cement in Spain decreased by 34.6% compared to the same period the previous year to 10.6 million tonnes in what is now considered to be the worst crisis of the sector in its history. FLSmidth granted loan by NIB

Danish group FLSmidth is reported to have been granted a €130 million loan from the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB). The company will use the money for financing of research and development activities, mainly for new products, optimisation of raw materials and fuel consumption, and reduction of hazardous emissions.
The loan accounts for half the sum that will be spent on the programme that will take place in 2013-2015.

Kemek pre-tax profit narrows 33% on sales decline

Irish company Kemek, half-owned by building materials group CRH, reported a decline by 15% in revenue year-over-year to €13.20 million in the fiscal year ended December 2011 from €15.50 million in the previous year.
Pre-tax profit of the industrial explosives company dropped 33% to €812,000 from €1.2 million as the firm incurred EUR 1.57mn non-cash depreciation costs. Accumulated profit amounted to EUR 10mn with the number of workforce fell to 44 people from the previous 55 people in 2011.
