Terex trucks for Scottish coal
The final two trucks of a 20-unit machine order placed by Scottish Coal have rolled out of the Terex manufacturing facility in Motherwell, Scotland.
The TR100 rigid trucks are part of a large order placed at the end of 2011 by Scottish Coal through TDL Equipment, the official UK distributor of Terex heavy line construction machines. They have joined the rest of the fleet across the company’s open cast coal sites in County Ayrshire, which now totals 44 TR100s operating across Scottish Coal’s Ayrshire sites.

German company Continental has renamed its business unit Industrial Tyres to Commercial Specialty Tyres (CST), a process that started in October 2012 and will be finalised by January, 2013. The renaming is part of Continental’s global strategy and paves the ground for future growth in the segment of commercial tyres. Decline in the UK 2012 asphalt market wipes out gains
The UK asphalt market is likely to fall by more than 15% in the current year, eliminating the recovery that the industry enjoyed in 2010 and 2011. The fall has been due to the completion of a number of major road schemes, reduced local authority expenditure on roads, and a sluggish economy. CRH lowers profit forecast
Ireland's largest publicly quoted company, CRH, has said the third quarter of 2012 saw much lower growth in its American operations and a higher rate of decline in Europe. In an interim management statement, the building materials group reported a decline in like for like group sales of 3% for the quarter, and 1% for the nine months to 30 September. Sales revenue for the last quarter was 1% ahead of 2011 when it reported revenues of €5.3 billion.
