CDE extends care offer

CDE Global is extending its customer care offering and has appointed Jason Kiddle to manage the introduction. The company has said that Kiddle will oversee customer relationships for CDE Global working closely with spare parts manager, Kevin Sheehy and service manager, Ryan Barker. The appointment comes after the company started roll out of its ServiceMax package for the UK and Irish markets late last year. CDE has said that the support system is designed to help operators maintain optimum production levels

New UK regional manager for CDE

CDE has announced an expansion of its UK team with the appointment of Jon Collins as UK regional manager. He joins CDE after accumulating extensive operating experience in the recycling, environmental and utilities contracting sectors latterly with FM Conway in Dartford, Kent, experience CDE says will allow it to further develop the construction and demolition waste recycling infrastructure in the UK through the introduction of the modular washing equipment that the company offers.

APS /CDE sign agreement

Lafarge shareholders meeting approves resolutions

Lafarge's ordinary shareholders' meeting, which was held in Paris under the chairmanship of Bruno Lafont approved all resolutions submitted for their vote. CRH transfers 49% holding in Portuguese jv to Semapa

CRH has transferred its 49% shareholding in Secil, the Portuguese cement producer, to Semapa, its former joint venture partner. Holcim targets extra €1.25bn profit

Swiss cement manufacturer Holcim intends to achieve an extra €1.25billion profit by 2014. The company said its target will be achieved with measures that are aimed at improving energy and cost efficiency. The positive effects will amount to €124.8million in 2012. Holcim believes that improving energy efficiency and using alternative fuel sources will drop energy costs by €249.6million. Cementir posts 3.6% rise in turnover in Q1/2012

Italian cement and construction material group Cementir has posted a 3.6% year-on-year rise in turnover for the first quarter of 2012 to €195.4million. The company's EBITDA rose 48.2% to €12.6million, while its operating loss improved from €12.3million to €8million. However, Cementir's pre-tax loss worsened by €2.3million to €11.4million.

Large material handling order awarded to FLSmidth

FLSmidth has been awarded a contract worth approximately €50 million (DKK 370 million) from the long-term customer Vale for the supply of material handling equipment to the Port of Nacala in Mozambique. New president for Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment EMEA

Martin Knoetgen, vice president of Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment’s Europe,
Middle East and Africa (EMEA) operations, has been appointed president of EMEA.
Knoetgen, who was appointed by Tony Helsham, CEO of Doosan Infracore Construction Equipment, will assume his new role from 1 June, 2012. He will replace Scott Nelson, who has been president of EMEA since June 2010.

Rockmore’s new ROK 500DH dth hammer

Rockmore International has unveiled the ROK 500DH, the the first release in its newly-announced Deep Hole hammer series. The 5 inch DTH range hammer is said to incorporate many new innovations and features characterised in the Deep Hole class of hammers. Italcementi posts €34.6million Q1 2012 loss

Italian construction material specialist Italcementi is reported to have recorded a €34.6million net loss in the first quarter of 2012, compared to a €127.6mn net profit in the same period of 2011. The company’s ebit fell from €36.3million in Q1 2011 to €21.3million in Q1 2012, and the ebitda from €130.8million to €126.7million at the end of March 2012. Holcim Group sales increase by 2.2% in Q1

Sadi’s €3.34million consolidated profit in 2011

Sadi Servizi Industriali (Sadi), the Italian provider of environmental remediation, waste management, engineering and building material services, says it achieved a consolidated profit of €3.34million in 2011. The 2012 profit margin was up on the firm’s 2010 profit of €2.90million. However, the company's 2012 EBITDA fell by 48%, while its EBIT dropped 61.9% and its turnover went down 10.9% to €45.8million.
