Hitachi Construction Machinery Europe (HCME) plans to move its production and assembly activities currently taking place in Oosterhout, the Netherlands, to the company's existing production site in Amsterdam.

CNBM of China subsidiary signs joint venture deal in Chizhou
Chinese building materials heavyweight CNBM (China National Building Material Co.) says an indirectly controlled new materials subsidiary of the company has signed an agreement with Anhui Non-Mining, Chizhou Traffic Investment, Chizhou Jinqiao Investment and Chizhou Construction Investment to form a joint venture in the Guichi district of Chizhou, a city in the south of Anhui province, eastern China.
Customised CDE plant for SOMEVAM industrial sands production
SOMEVAM, a subsidiary of the Tunisia-based Sebri Group, has been operating quarries servicing the construction market in Tunisia since 2001. To diversify its operations, the company decided to invest in the production of specialist industrial sands for the glass industry in North Africa, Asia, and Europe. This led to SOMEVAM purchasing a custom-made CDE plant solution.
The new CDE plant now operating at a SOMEVAM quarry is said by the Cookstown, Northern Ireland-headquartered manufacturer to recover 100% of the feed material, transforming it into five in-spec materials of glass, coarse, and foundry sands as well as oversize and ultra-fines, all ready for sale straight from the belts.
The flexible CDE solution can also be tailored for other cut points in line with different market specifications.

Mexican building materials giant CEMEX has made some senior-level company changes.
Jose Antonio Gonzalez, currently executive vice president of Finance and Administration, has been appointed executive vice president of Strategic Planning and Business Development.
Maher Al-Haffar, presently executive vice president of Investor Relations, Corporate Communications and Public Affairs, has been appointed executive vice president of Finance and Administration.
Investor Relations will be integrated into Finance.

PCA announces the winners of its safety performance awards
The Portland Cement Association (PCA) has announced the winners of the 2019 Chairman's Safety Performance Awards, which recognise safety performance in the manufacturing of portland cement.
The winning plants were presented in a video from the US Department of Labor's Mine Safety and Health Administration Assistant Secretary, David Zatezalo.
PCA chairman Tom Beck, says: “Our industry is constantly focused on doing everything possible to assure our employees go home in the same condition as they arrived.”
Dangote Cement increases revenue
Nigerian building materials giant Dangote Cement said higher domestic sales fuelled its 3.8% year-on-year first quarter 2020 revenue rise to NGN 249.2bn (US$686.14mn).

LafargeHolcim ramps up its Solidia Technologies partnership to capture CO2 in building materials
LafargeHolcim is ramping up its cooperation deal with US-based Solidia Technologies to reduce CO2 across its value chain. The French-Swiss building materials giant's partnership with Solidia, which began in 2013, is formally agreed until 2025, with an option to extend.
Together, the two companies' new technology solutions mean that they now emit up to 30% less CO2 during cement production.
They also capture and store CO2, leading to a 70% carbon reduced concrete.
Josh Leftwich to head up the Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association
The Texas Aggregates & Concrete Association (TACA) has chosen Josh Leftwich to succeed David Perkins as president and CEO from 15 June.
TACA chairman Paul Rouse, says: Leftwich's “versatile industry experience will prove invaluable to TACA and its membership as we face the many challenges ahead, most importantly ensuring that Texas has the infrastructure to sustain the needs of a growing state”.
MINExpo International postponed until September 2021
The National Mining Association (NMA) has postponed this year's MINExpo International in Las Vegas until September 2021, as the Covid-19 virus crisis continues to disrupt the economy.
The NMA says it is working with its event partners to event partners to identify and secure the necessary exhibition facilities and hotel accommodations for the event next year.
New dates will be announced once the logistical arrangements have been confirmed, the show's sponsor adds.
