CAC's CEO Michael McSweeney, says: “A successful economic recovery will require a commitment to use time-sensitive infrastructure spending.
"We have a very short construction season in Canada and municipalities have lost much of their financial capacity to fund important infrastructure projects this year.
Granite wins $16m Cosumnes Bridge project

US aggregate production up 3% in the first quarter
US aggregate production was up 3% year-on-year to 464 million tonnes in the first quarter of this year according to the latest survey from USGS.
Production-for-consumption increased in 31 of the 41 U.S. states estimated in the US Geological Survey’s (USGS) quarterly sample survey by construction aggregates producers.
An estimated 291 million tonnes of crushed stone was produced and shipped for consumption in the US in the first quarter of 2020 ... a small increase compared with that of the same period of 2019.

A Finnish construction engineering company is said to have achieved the impressive feat of crushing 200 tonnes of asphalt in just one hour.
Earlier this year, Veljekset Paupek, based in Tornio, Finland, leased a Metso Lokotrack LT200HP cone crusher from Rotarent to accompany their own Lokotrack LT106 jaw crushing plant to create a two-stage crushing process.
"We were able to crush the entire batch of 10,000 tonnes in just over two weeks," says Ville Takalo, Paupek's technical manager.
