Turkey: Limak Cimento signs an agreement with Sinoma
Turkish cement producer Limak Cimento has signed an agreement with Chinese Sinoma International Engineering (Sinoma) to build a new factory in Ankara, Turkey.
The Limak Anka Integrated Cement Plant will have a cement production capacity of 5,000tonnes/day.
Construction of the factory will take 20 months, until the first quarter of 2017.
New Philippines cement factories from Eagle Cement
In the Philippines, a new production line and two new cement factories will be built by Eagle Cement.
The companywill add a third line at its Bulacan factory at a cost of US$400 million (€365.04 million).
Also, Eagle Cement will develop two new factories in Cebu and Davao with a capacity of 2 million tonnes for each factory.
Crimea has deficiency of crushed stone for construction
According to the Crimea's Deputy Minister of Environment and Mineral Resources, Alexey Yatsenko, the region does not have a sufficient amount of crushed stone for implementation of projects under the federal programme.
Some four or five proven fields would be enough for Crimea to build high-quality roads.
The new fields are being found with much difficulty.

UK: Campaigners oppose reopening of Cornish quarry
Campaigners are opposed to plans to reopen a quarry in County Cornwall, south-west England.
The quarry is likely to supply Cornish stone for a proposed tidal energy project in Swansea Bay, Wales.
It is reported that Shire Oak Quarries is pursuing plans to reopen the quarry near St Kevergne, which would supply around 3 million tonnes of stone for the tidal project.
Tidal Lagoon Power, the company behind the Swansea project, is reported as saying no decision to use Cornish stone has been made.

Spain’s demand for aggregates down by 1.8% in 2014
In 2014, demand of aggregates in Spain decreased by 1.8% on the previous year and reached an all-time low of 90.1 million tonnes.
Since 2006, demand for aggregates in Spain decreased by 81.4%.
The Spanish association Anefa said that 2014 was a flat year for the industry, but in 2015 the association expects for demand of aggregates to rise by 5% to 100 million tonnes.
In terms of business volume, the sector ended 2014 with a total of €410 million, after a 85% cumulative drop since 2007.

FLSmidth to supply largest cement plant in South-East Asia
FLSmidth has received an order worth approximately €100 million (DKK 750 million) from the Vietnamese cement producer Xuan Than Group for the supply of a complete cement plant with a capacity of 12,000tonnes/day.

Minister helps mark JCB Transmissions’ two millionth powertrain milestone
JCB Transmissions has marked a major manufacturing milestone – the production of its two millionth powertrain.
The company was set up in 1978 with less than a dozen employees in a single factory on the Wrexham Industrial Estate in Wrexham, north Wales.
